Some Skank Guitars, some Skank Keys, Some Skank sound bites, and I believe in the track you posted it is a sound bite of some sort.

Reminds me of "Rhythm and Sound" a bit.

I guess I could see how some might get all categorical and say this ain't Reggae, but it's definitely DUB.

sounds like an organ passed through a LPF.

load up an instrument, put the track into Live and play along. simple lines.

I think he is referring to reggae influenced chord stabs used in dub techno

Thank you sir. Spot on with your comment.
And does anybody have anymore clues as to how this skank is made? I'm not reffering to any particular skank stab but this one. Hear it a lot in Radio Slave, Rythm and sound etc.

Thanks.

I think Tone Deft is right, it sounds like and organ, but it sounds like it's got this grainy, softness from vinyl times 10.

Actually this guy makes some Massive Presets that are pretty close to those kinds of stabs http://www.massivesynth.com/

Are we all on the same page here? I'm talking about the one shot skank thingy.
Sounds like a snare through Resonator but I've tried that and it don't work.

the one that is consistently on the 2 and th 4?

Might be some kind of FM synthesis graininess. Try mixing some filtered white noise and square or saw waves together in operator maybe?
