Essential reading!

Along the same lines, here's an article I wrote for djtechtools:

<< I played a show once where the local opener erased all the lighting presets from my controller because they were upset they didn't have a long enough sound check. >>

Seriously? That's some incredible douchbaggery there. Kinda sad that on top of everything else, we have to worry about other artists fucking with our gear on stage.

Yep, this was in Texas. We showed up and the opening band had set up all their gear, occupying the entire freaking stage. I had to ask them to move all their stuff off so we could soundcheck. They did it but were pissy bitches. After our sound check we left for dinner and came back to find everything erased. One of the band members later confirmed that they did indeed erase it out of spite. This was before I started using a laptop actually but I shudder to think what they would have done if I had a laptop sitting there unlocked.

Touring is war for some people.

Yep. I actually had found your article and posted a link to mine as a comment a while back. Good stuff!

We should get Tarekith to update this for later versions of Windows too: http://www.synnack.com/blog/tarekith/as ... Tweaks.htm
