ddg.mono - put out polyphonic note "peaks"

Post by phattline » Mon Nov 01, 2010 2:36 pm

Hi, I have a problem with: ddg.mono

I need it for my analog monosynth... but when I input polyphonic notes in the ddg.mono I get this out:
Image
My synth (spectral audio neptune 2) dont eat this... because sometimes the Synthenvelpe get triggert by this short polyphonic notes.... like U see in the picture, this short polyponic note peaks - send out a not off message...so my my synth envelopes get SHORT!!!

any ideas?
here is the patch.:

i was just trying something like this the other day, ddg.mono is a bad external, i can break it very quickly in tests

we need to figure out a way to do this without that external, i have been searching and testing, i will report back with my findings soon

Um... as the name of the object pretty clearly indicates, it's created to handle monophonic synths. Why would you expect it to work with polyphony? It's a completely different case.

this is a workaround... but I am not happy with it....
it can take the real LO-notes...but not the HI-notes...for Hi-notes it alwasy takes the next higher note to the lowest.... so when you play 6x polyphonic it dont takes the higest note... this is maybe ok for basslines... but it would be nice if there where a external out there that handle that operations in better timing and with REAL HI-Notes.

I dont have monophonic notes... I only have polyphonic notes.
If I had monophonic notes, I wouldnt need a external like ddg.mono

I have a polyphonic sequencer, that I programm in Realtime, because of Performance tasks (Live-Jam) - I dont have the time to programm EXTRA for the bassline a own sequencer...its not possible - and its nonsens... so the bassliner, should get the lowest or higest notes only - and all is ok! (e.g. clavia nord rack III has this feature built in...)

there is a better way, i know it, i just cant get it to work yet

also for future reference

[if $i1 == 0 then 1 else 0] is the same thing as [== 0], read the help file on ==, very helpful

yes for me your patch works... no clicks anymore, and also the HI/LO function works correct...

Thankz! I think i will use your modification (thresh object...) also for other midi efx....
I have a patch that collect the played notes, and when I press a button it holds them and retrigger them by each new note (without changing the notes/chords) --- a very sinfull tool for Jamin.... this patch also makes clicks.....maybe thresh is the way to go...

also thankz for the tip for the IF function... a year ago I dont even know that a IF function exist  haha max oh my god...

thats cool, remember that they need to have that external installed, unless you froze it or packaged it or whatever it is you do to include the used externals you will need to give a link to the website to download it
