Live, IMO, is the 'Mac' of DAWs. That is I can just Get Stuff Done.

Talk about productivity 8)

So similarly, OS X.

Snow Leopard here. Solid as a Rock with Live 8.2
Mac Studio M1
Live 12 Suite,Zebra ,Valhalla Plugins, MIDI Guitar (2+3),Guitar, Bass, VG99, GP10, JV1010 and some controllers

you failed to mention Windows 7 64 bit and Vista 64 bit and XP 64 bit.

In windows going from 64 bit to 32 bit in an O.S. might even make a bigger difference than switching from XP to Windows 7 as far as compatibility is concerned.

Don't quite agree there.

When solely looking at the resources it takes in comparison to Vista and Win7 I'd say its an ideal solution for working with stuff like Live.
except that it's very bad at managing resources well on modern systems, compared to an os tailored for it.

but most of those xp setups are sort of "never touch a running system". so i understand anyone still using it.

(and i won't get dragged into a stupid discussion in here. there are tons of win7 features that make it fit much better to modern hardware, i've documented that in other xp/win7 threads)
