UKRuss was not banned

Post by Ableton_David » Tue Nov 16, 2010 6:14 pm

Just a note to prevent further rumor-mongering: UKRuss did not get banned. He chose to deactivate his account.

Which means what, exactly? His user name is still searchable, and all his posts are still here. So what his request has
actually yielded is inability to log in?

The Internet CSI must have a ridiculously easy job; nothing you do on the Internet ever disappears.

Yes, let me clarify - any user is free to leave; further, you are free to delete your own posts. In order to completely erase the the evidence of a user of having ever been on this forum, administrators have to be involved. Generally, that is only done without request when dealing with trolls (think cperezz and clones doing the necrobumps) or other such extreme cases.

So, yes, you're correct - technically, UKRuss is free to come back at any time. And, his posts, will certainly not be getting erased.

So how many necrobumps would be required if I wanted all my posts deleted? :P

So to sum up:
he's not going to post again ever, or until next week, or until he has thought up a new username.
Whichever comes first.

Wow

Thanks for clarifying this. I wish UKRuss all the best, I appreciated his music and perspective that he brought to forum. I hope he returns.....

Maybe Ableton should just close the forums and focus on making music software.
