static bursts in audio

so i have my overall latency at 7.32, but i get static every min. or so when i play my tracks. so i tried increasing the samples (which is at 77 right now), but when i do that my tracks sound all high pitched and "staticky" as well. any ideas? thanks!!!

geeez thanks. Can you please provide any more insight about noise issues with ableton. High pitched beeps/static...intermittent and hard to replicate of course. On my fresh install to a clean system disk I still get occasional beep when playing back set with two or three audio tracks, omnisphere, trillian, bfd. 6 gigs ram, 7200 rpm disks, seperate sample/audio/system disks.
Using a brand new rme fireface 800 with analog only for minimal bus load.


Is there anything general you can say about this class of problems? i.e. buffer problem? Audio interface bus bandwidth?
