Ableton Live 8 + Sylenth1 - Really Annoying Problem
Ableton Live 8 + Sylenth1 - Really Annoying Problem
Hey guys, hopefully someone can help me, having a small issue with Live 8.2.1 and Sylenth1.
Basically I have selected a preset in Sylenth1. In Ableton's session view, I click 'play' on the clip with the newly selected preset but it just jumps to the first preset in the bank...I have no idea why.
For those with Sylenth1 and Ableton, I thought I would give an example.
In bank 2 of the default banks, select the preset '169: KEY Star Child 2'. When I click play on the clip it jumps to '134 ARP Clean Slate'
It's driving me crazy!! I have tried starting my project from scratch, copying all my MIDI files into a new project but I have the same result.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Simon

Re: Ableton Live 8 + Sylenth1 - Really Annoying Problem
I believe BANK information can be saved along with MIDI.
Try this...
Click on the Show/Hide Notes Box(it's at the bottom left of the interface) if it's not already on
Set BANK, SUB-BANK and PROGRAM to NONE.

I've had no problems with this before, I have no idea what is causing it! Do you think it could be a Sylenth problem and not Ableton?
I think you're right that the bank information is being saved with the MIDI, I just can't seem to figure out how to stop it. If I start a new project, Sylenth1 sticks to the preset I select.
Re: Ableton Live 8 + Sylenth1 - Really Annoying Problem
Okay, I think I may have a solution.
I have exported the MIDI files that are playing up to my desktop. I created a new MIDI channel and dragged the newly exported MIDI into that channel. Loaded Sylenth1 onto the channel and it how keeps the preset that I tell it to!
The old MIDI clip was obviously retaining some preset information but for the life of me I have no idea where!
