different effects on different clips in one track

I apologize for this kind of newbee question but I actually wasn’t able to work it out for quite a while:
In my song (in clip view) I want to use, lets say, one single track for my guitar. There are several clips in this track like riff, bridge, refrain, solo, etc.
My intention is to play different scenes and put different audio effects on the different clips. A ‚solo’ would need some distortion while the bridge would need some chorus for example. As all the clips are in one track, all effects are put on all clips according to the effect line. Things are getting pretty messed up there and that is not what I want, obviously.
I’m quite sure it is extremely easy to do that in Live, as it is a very basic issue. Somehow I really didn’t find the solution.

You should also look at using effect racks, assigning the chain selector to different effects/combinations, then use clip envelopes to select different chains on a per clip basis.
