help needed in deciding M-audio 61 vs Novation SL MKII

Guys I am going to buy a midi controller but having to decide between M audio axom and Novation SL MK II i am really stuck with what choice to make. i jave watched endless videos on the tube and read loads of review but still So I have come to you guys probably you can give me pointers , the pros and cons in helping me make a intuitive decision. It is a lot of money to spend if you are not sure so guys let me know what your opinions about these two are ? thanks

I've fallen victim to this on my trigger finger when the USB driver crashes half way through a performance. I've had my xstation for almost 6 years now, still works great even in windows 7 64 bit.

Thanks guys it will be novation for me .It seems m audio has a bad rep , every forum I've seen slate their stuff I will stay well clear . Peace out fellow musicians .

I have the sl mkii 49 and I like a lot of things about it. The much advertised "automap pro" marketed by Novation doesn't work so well in Ableton inself but it works with most 3rd party plugins used within Ableton.

The build quality isn't amazing (knobs and sliders are adequate but very "plasticky"). Integration in pretty tight with Ableton since the 8.1 update.. and you can even launch clips with it now with a slight midi map!

All-in-all it has some faults but I love it!
