As far as Audio goes, the biggest trend I saw was the lowering of prices due to global recession and the failure of the once-a-year release.
On video, there is a huge misunderstanding of what constitutes an HD channel.
As for technology, the rise of TB drives, the beginnings of the cloud. A huge number of miniature, limited computers like iPads and iPhones.
A regrettable lack of breakthrough in voice processing.
No net agents yet (an automata that seeks what I want via 'Pull', all is currently oriented to 'Push').
Disk drives are now at the limits of reliability - about 1 bit per terabyte - don't we need truly secure drive integrity?

I try to read Create Digital Music but a lot of it goes over my head unfortunately. I've yet to even try setting up Touch OSC for my iPhone so I'm not that up to date with this stuff but I'll say the iPad/tablets and just the continued development of OSC/wireless performance controllers.
