I haven't done too much purging since I've started using folders. Sure some apps aren't getting much use but I'm not short on space yet, and who knows, maybe I will want to use them some day. But there is a lot of crap I got on the cheap or for free because of the holiday sales…I'm somewhat relieved that's all over now.

Flipbook is my current fave news aggregator - elegant, simple, and it all conforms to the same standard. I used to use Pulse because you get a good up front snap shot of a lot of sites' content at once but I never really liked it's navigation and it's kind of ugly and too cluttered.

And the design for all the new tablets? lol. I mean, not one of them has come up with something that isn't a complete knock off. Jebus. From the black border panel to the aluminum trim. Can't one of them do.....I dunno...a white tablet? Beat Apple to the punch or something? Nay. They cannot. Because all the other tablet companies are complete lemmings. Cost Benefit and Risk Analysis' were conducted, and the results prove that straying from the Apple aesthetic could have a seriously negative impact on sales.

My fav move? Some of the new tablets are the same overall size as an iPad, but the screens are actually reduced by 20%.

Could you please point me to where the built in cameras and memory card readers are on the iPad?

But seriously, those aren't innovations and the front facing camera is such an obvious rip-off of the iPhone 4. They're just things competitors tossed in so they feel they have some/any advantage over the iPad. When the iPad 2 comes out and has either or both of those, then what?

Oh I know what, we'll just fall back to the traditional "it's overpriced" default answer.

But actually I haven't heard about competitor slates being substantially cheaper than the iPad, so that argument may not work this time around.

The answer for competitors will be the classic non-Apple move:

1. Do a hamfisted copy of Apple's design.

2. Load it up with an unGodly number of features - none of which really work all that great, but in the non-Apple world it's all about Quantity over Quality.

3. Give it a hyper bloated OS that a)Barely works if it's a Microsoft platform or b)Conforms to God-Knows-What standards if it's an Android platform.

4. Cancel it before it's actually released.
