I'm pretty sure I remember Ableton saying that Soundcloud support was definitely in their future. 64-bit support is another matter entirely, of course.beats me wrote:There's nothing more annoying than people trying to parlay "I wish" into rumor with absolutely no substantiated facts and it's usually by people who aren't paying attention enough to know what is or is not going on.

Perhaps, they'll release an OS, a plane or some cats food..

Maybe they'll release a share service that actually works? heaven forbid...

It'll be cheaper! And more reliable! And Robert Henke will start writing melodies again.EnjoyRC wrote:Seeing NAMM 2011 rumors starting...
Ableton Live 9 announcement – featuring 64-bit support, new effects, SoundCloud support and possibly a new synth.
No? Ah, didn't think so.

Ableton will not be on the floor this year unless they are added last second. Last year they got a noise and decibel violation. This could be the cause of no Ableton this year.

i couldn't care less about Soundcloud support...

Soundcloud support? So you could export your tracks straight to soundcloud? In a list of useless new features, this would hit the top 3. What next? Ability to post facebook status updates straight from Lives UI?

soundcloud support... come on! I use live for composing arranging and playing music...
I don't want a daw with gmail support, messenger integrated, let's get crazy go for 3D vision for live 10.
no way! I'm happy in a way that they stay on a silent path.
It surely prooves they're working hard on 8....and they have lot to work with.
Re: NAMM 2011 :: Ableton Live 9
For NAMM 2011, I was really anticipating the Collaborating / Share function to return. That was my primary reason for updating to Live Suite 8. 7 was doing me just fine.

In a short time there has been new versions for Reason, Pro Tools, Sonar and now Cubase is announcing version 6 @ Namm (http://www.gearslutz.com/board/new-prod ... oming.html).
That's why I'm quite surprised that there is propably not going to be a new version of Live in the near future.

Re: NAMM 2011 :: Ableton Live 9
soundcloud support - really!
and what "real" benefit is this? WOW, they are really going to shed bucket loads of Live because you can upload direct from Live into soundcloud instead exporting and then uploading to soundcloud. Only if it came with a PRO account then I maybe worth it!
Plus if this was the solution for MP3 export rather than a ‘FULL’ mp3 encoder then that's poor... very poor.
As for a synth - Ableton don't arse around creating one just license a full version of NI Absynth or Waldorf Largo within LIve 9.
Although thinking about... the association with AAS I’m surprised that Tassman 4 will not given in the suite.

Re: NAMM 2011 :: Ableton Live 9
Who cares about a version 9. What more do you possibly need to do with the program. 8 has everything I could need right now. Plus, you don't want them to rush it. Every version of live (I have been a user since v.2 has taken a year or so after release to get stable, so let's be patient. To quell the GAS, you could learn to program in max4live... Also forget about share. We have dropbox for free. You can bounce tracks directly to it and they will automatically download to your collaborators computer.

I have no interest in soundcloud integration.
The concept behind (and the usefulness of) Share is completely different.
