NAMM 2011 Roundup

I know it hasn't started yet (in a few hours I guess) and we already have a lengthy thread about Ableton at NAMM, but here's one to start reporting on what other new stuff gets announced.

So far it seems like these two things will get press at NAMM.

So far, I find this much more interesting, and I wish Ableton would follow suit.

I've started using FL Studio again b/c of all the cool compositional stuff it has. At the end of the day the music is what's most important to me...not how many ways I can glitch something up.

Ditto. But intonation (aka note-by-note tuning) has been an important issue since at least the 18th century, and I am happy to see it coming into the electronic-music mainstream.

According to Gearslutz and Steinberg forums Cubase 6 will be announced. Also something new from DSI is confirmed by their staff.

Arturia - $599 MSRP (as you said). Not sure on the dongle yet (they informed me they were "thinking" about doing away with those and going software license only).

M-Audio Venom is $499. Not sure if anyone else here wants to try this out, but it could be interesting.

I'm digging that layout with the big push button knob, pad+sequencer buttons, dedicated knobs above the pads. Pretty sweet. However the packaging/housing are ugly to me. Seems like a fair price though.
