I don't think it's competing with Maschine. Arturia is about classic gear emulation, unlike Maschine which is stopping just short of a full blown DAW.

Not that it could ever replace Maschine but it's got a few cool things it seems. It does work with analog emulation synthesis, but also uses samples. Also, although 8 pads are not as useful, it's kinda cool that the 8 pads are separate from the 16 step sequencer. But yeah it does go after the classic drum machine vibe, with 3 dedicated knobs per drum, whereas Maschine is much more in the MPC sampler style. I bet spark used as a plug-in within Maschine 1.6 would be a pretty cool combo with Maschine as standalone eh?

that a bit better because it has an practical amount of pads and and at least some unsymetrys in the userinterface that aöow orientation without thinking.... what we actually need in instrument design.... but ugly..uhhh..... however..
