Switching focus between Session Grid and Clip view area

Post by danryanfl » Mon Dec 20, 2010 4:47 pm

I am using Bome's to setup up a mouseless setup on my APC40. I was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut to switch between the focus being up in the session grid and the focus being down on the clip view area. Right now I have sorta hacked it by prefixing any keyboard commands relative to the session grid to begin with Tab Tab and any keyboard commands relative to the clip view are prefixed with F12 F12. Is there another way?

sorry to dig this up, but does anybody know the answer?

how can you switch from clip view (say from editing a clip) to the session-clip area (say to create/rename some other clips or to edit a different clip) without using a mouse?

Also, how, as well without using a mouse, can you make Live show the devices for a given channel (if you were, say, editing a clip previously)?

Thanks in advance.

shift+tab to switch to/from the clip/device view, and alt+up arrow to regain focus to the session view.

Thanks much friend_kami. I managed to find about shift+tab but alt+up was not there. Thanks so much!

Since I have your attention, may I ask you how do you mouselessly change focus to the browser area as well? The only way I found was to use shift+ctrl+F, but that of course activates the search function, and then I have to press that shortcut again or ESC.

Is there a simpler way?

I feel your pain on that one :(

Between that and record quantization on/off, it'd be nice to have some quick methods.

:( hopefully the Ableton people will look at this.

I will add my 1 cent by contacting them and request these, they'd really help workflow.

Hope others join us on the small request!
