Do you think that will happen before the iPad2 daily reports thread gets started? Or are you just going to unveil a new title for this thread when that day comes?

LoopStationZebra wrote:@80 that looks very cool from a graphics and interface standpoint.

I take it that it's a MIDI map controller? MIDI map to filter parameters and whatnot? How flexible is it? Where are the specs? Can I assign my own MIDI Note or CC #s?

Will it take advantage of CoreMIDI? At this point, I'm done with OSC for everything except touchAble.
Thanks! Yes, it's a pure controller at the moment - sends OSC which you can then convert to MIDI if you want. We are definitely looking at the core MIDI API, but we started developing this before iOS 4.2... actually before the iPad was on the market at all... so we've been focussing on the stuff that makes Konkreet Performer unique - the visual interface, generating control data from the visuals and gestures.

The specs for the OSC parameters and mapping examples will be on our website as soon as the app is available to buy... it's very flexible, it sends a huge amount of parameters with every movement that you make, so it's completely free for the user to keep it simple or create a monster multi-headed hydra of a control map. Roughly with a two-finger rotate/zoom gesture you could, if you want to, map up to about 50 unique parameter changes!

We're really excited to see what people will do with it!

Cool.

How is the user firing up the wifi OSC connection? Are you requiring your own app to run on the laptop like touchAble?

I don't like when posts in this thread start getting all tech babble. Please keep it to an every man tone. There's plenty of other threads on here to fall asleep to. Thanks. :x

So, Performer fires out the OSC messages (and can also receive OSC input). You just type your laptop hostname and the port number in Performer's config screen and away you go. On the laptop side we have been using OSCulator to map to MIDI to use with Live and Kore 2. We have also just connected directly to Reaktor (and it also works with the free Reaktor Player) via OSC, without using OSCulator.

Actually, I think our Config Screen is now up for all to see, lemme check...

Edit: yeah, up on our facebook page, second most recent post with the images we submitted to the iTunes Store.

How soon before a CoreMIDI/camera connection kit offering? :P

beats, not to fear. We'll be getting back to regularly scheduled programming quite soon!

It saddens me that the app store is becoming like beatport, a bunch of rehashed shit that's already been done to death. :x

And I've learned the hard way too many times that the stellar reviews right when an app comes out is largely the developers and their friends. :x

How long before David A simply creates a new private forum with us 2 as the only members, locks us in, and throws away the key?

The forum would weep uncontrollably if that happened. This thread survived it all and would get visited and tagged more than Jim Morrison's grave.

OMFG, now people are losing their shit over Apple putting custom screws in the iPhone and consumers can't buy a screwdriver that will remove them. You think that Apple is sick of people fucking up their shit in an attempt to upgrade or fix it themselves and then whining about how their fucked-up-manship attempt voided the warranty?

Please, people, go buy an Android phone. I insist! I'll even hold your purse while you make the purchase.

MORE ANGRY BIRDS NEWS!!!!!

Guy makes Angry Birds out of legos!

An animated Angry Birds movie/series is in production!

Developers of Angry Birds are working on a Valentine's Day themed version…which they'll charge for!

FUCK!! This game so does not deserve the amount of spin offs it's generating or the 24/7 news coverage it's getting.
