8.2.1 crashing on opening projects

Hi. I'm having a lot of problems with 8.2.1 crashing and blue-screening on opening projects. I understand this is a fairly common problem with users. Can anything be done to stop this happening?

A couple suggestions - first, you should always provide as much information as you can when asking questions, as the root of a problem is usually specific to the unique setup of a user. So, for example - is this happening with one particular set? What plugins are you using? Are you on a Mac or Windows machine?

Thanks mate. It usually happens when I try to open projects which use 3rd party fx. It's difficult to narrow it down to any specific ones as it happens on so many different occasions, and with different projects. I use Windows Vista.

I've had a similar problem and couldn't reopen a project that was previously OK.
I've found Live's log file and saw the log ended everytime Live was opening a particular plugin.
I've removed the plugin: Live could open the project again (though it complained that one of the plugins couldn't be found).
I've reinstalled the plugin... and had no problem when I opened the project again

I wonder if Live does maintain a "plugin cache" that may get corrupt?
