Yep often. Always find though that if, after a while, I open SC in a new window the track's there complete. Odd.
Re: Soundcloud - preparing for transcoding!!
yeh, its a 'known issue' in their help faqs. you have to delete the file, re-upload it, and dont make any changes in the track details until it's finished. or something like that

I wonder why it is that if you upload in the format that the service says is the format they will ultimately use to serve the contene why "transcoding" needs to happen? What is actually happening during that step? It used to say "rendering waveform" or something to that effect.
UTENZIL a tool... of the muse.

That's to make sure the stream sounds as shitty as possible.mikemc wrote:I wonder why it is that if you upload in the format that the service says is the format they will ultimately use to serve the contene why "transcoding" needs to happen?
If you intend for the track to be stream only, you should upload in wave quality, so that the format isn't already lossy before the transcoding.
If you want the track to be downloadable, you should upload in the quality you want for the download. The stream is going to be 128 regardless.

Re: Soundcloud - preparing for transcoding!!
Why would you directly upload to sound cloud anyway?
What are the benefits?
surely you want to check the Mix has rendered properly and doesn't sound shit.

I'd imagine the advantage is that Ableton gets more sales from Live Lite users upgrading thus giving them more funds to work on Live Nein.
A sad means for a hopeful end, really.
Perhaps they have to keep on coming up with ways to bring in $$$ in order to pay for outside help that can tackle certain problems.
Or not.

I happens because of one short 6 second sample made famous by Skrillix...it originated from a cracked malware bomb as shareware plugin that contained a analog synthesis algorithm discovered by Antonov Petrov. Petrov work for the KBG during the cold war and specialized in acoustical interrogation technology.
Apparently most of the interweb producers are using this sample now...
