I have an idea for the new ableton

Post by samm2 » Thu Feb 10, 2011 7:06 pm

For a new ableton version, to have a knob for chords in the piano roll like this, which you can put on and off.

http://www.afbeeldingenuploaden.nl/view ... chords.jpg

Where it show on the piano roll on the left, a chords, if you click on a tone. And
show on the gray, the chord. Like this http://www.afbeeldinguploaden.nl/photo/view/1158/6ZkEQG

Then if you click on a note with the rigth mouse button on the circle note,
http://www.afbeeldinguploaden.nl/photo/view/1156/31HwT

You get a drop done menu http://www.afbeeldinguploaden.nl/photo/view/1159/w2dNfm
And here http://www.afbeeldinguploaden.nl/photo/view/1160/9Nz

With the chord mode on, you can change the length of the chord together.

And here above to show the chord is visible on the piano roll. http://www.afbeeldinguploaden.nl/photo/view/1161/W2Vfl

Like the menu on the left, where you can preview the chords. Then if you are in the menu like a the c a submenu appear to the left with major,5,6 etc.

Most chords i don't now, and would it not be easier if you just click and the chords is there, and can preview them.

Learn the chords then.

Or perhaps they should build in a 'make music for me' button.

Forget about it. I've been asking for that since version 6. Ableton just don't care about us, they think we've nothing better to do but sit around making music all day.

Even fruity loops have something like this, in a chaotic form http://d3vvl31cy8gagb.cloudfront.net/495_flchords/3.jpg

It's not about knowing the chords...
...it's a way to program them faster too !!!

Also it would be nice if you could choose a scale and only the right notes staying active.

Then it would be cool to have some transposing feature available.
If you need to transpose a whole song into another tonality.
From C to D as example.

There is actually no software doing this and it's much work to do that by hand.
No! I'll never use the Push-App Live 9 !!!

you must be havin a laugh mate, if ur not willing to put the time in to learn a few chords then theres no point in getting involved in music production.
