Anyone here do any dub production?

Post by TheLion1 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 12:23 am

im talking like live remixes, Lee Scratch Perry style and whatnot. in the studio or on stage

just wondering what equipment you use, any tips on getting started, what you wish someone told you when you started, etc?

thanks in advance

i do dub just inbetween - sometimes is tempting to use the channels of my dance-music sets
bring a riddim in.

the last one trippleblunt4dub
is three in one - the second part demonstrates trilians mighty wah-bass.

but like i said - for me dub it just inbetween making other music

cheers

I'm a beginner dub person too, I've been posting the past week on dub questions - search my name to find some topics on it.

I remember when Mad Professor came to N.Z to remix a local band and I asked one of the band members what delay unit he used - Alesis Midiverb so its not the gear more how you use it.

Check Paddy (Pitch Black) youtube tutorials on dub he's the king of dubbed out madness. He uses LIVE delay on 1 channel fed into itself to get that dub style endless differing delay/echo.
