I cut my teeth on Digital Performer and when I first saw Live I had no idea WTF I was doing.

It took me the longest to figure out easy stuff.

So like someone said earlier it's for beginners but not for ONLY beginners.

the principles of all DAW's are the same, its about learning the layout, commands and buttons to work with ease. The fundamental aspects of music production doesnt change, so in many respects all (pro) DAW's are the same, just with different layouts.

+1

some DAWs have a handful of features that others do not, but they usually are missing a handful that others have... still, the fundamentals are there and given the sheer number of features that they all have there is almost always a workaround...

the willingness to actually use a workaround/alternative method... now thats something no DAW manufacturer can give it's customer base.

you lead a horse to water, but you can't make it freeze tracks and re-order its plugins.

Live was the first DAW I ever managed to get anything started in. It just made immediate sense. Took me months to understand wtf the arrangement view as for though, and then love became passion!
