How do you make Tremolo?
I should know this...I used to know it.
Doesn't it have something to do with phase and 0 degrees. I just can't get what I want. I want a 100% in and out tremolo.

Re: How do you make Tremolo?
1. Use autopan, set phase to zero
2. Adjust amount+rate to whatever you want
3. Rock some mean surf guitar.

Re: How do you make Tremolo?
tremolo on a real instrument is cause by slight pitch bends when you wiggle the string back and forth, not from panning.

Re: How do you make Tremolo?
that is actually incorrect and was caused by Leo Fender calling the whammy bar on the stratocaster a tremolo bar. It should be more accurately called a vibrato bar. What you're thinking about is vibrato. tremolo is the volume going up and down.DangerousDave wrote:tremolo on a real instrument is cause by slight pitch bends when you wiggle the string back and forth, not from panning.

Yeah, I always get yelled at it when I refer to it as a "Tremolo Bar," even thought I'm half right because despite the fact that it doesn't make the tremolo effect, that's still a name for it.

nothing wrong with calling it a "tremolo bar" it's just wrong to say it does "tremolo" effectthe_planet wrote:Yeah, I always get yelled at it when I refer to it as a "Tremolo Bar," even thought I'm half right because despite the fact that it doesn't make the tremolo effect, that's still a name for it.

Re: How do you make Tremolo?
to be correct:
tremolo effect ist not the same as tremolo on an (acoustic) instrument.
tremolo efx: periodic change of volume/change of pan
tremolo on an instrument: repeating the same note as fast as possible (like a trill without changing pitch)

But but... it's a whammy bar man, you need a Stratocaster with whammy bar.kanuck wrote:nothing wrong with calling it a "tremolo bar" it's just wrong to say it does "tremolo" effectthe_planet wrote:Yeah, I always get yelled at it when I refer to it as a "Tremolo Bar," even thought I'm half right because despite the fact that it doesn't make the tremolo effect, that's still a name for it.

Funnily enuff, tremelo is the thing you get on Fender amps, which is volume. Poor old Leo must have been a confused chap.

Re: How do you make Tremolo?
I've changed the name of all my tremolo arms to 'Dave'.
Saves the confusion.
