I'm looking at either Razor or Operator, any help?
they're so different its really hard to say. get both? im not sure if the reaktor player has more limitations than full reaktor apart from the obvious editing capabilities, that might influence your decision. anyway, im pretty sure you can demo them both so try them out, see which one inspires you more.

about the cpu use, it can get quite high when playing chords with the quality set to high (over 30% on my e6600), but generally its around the 10-15% mark for me.

i have to say i absolutely love it. its great for all sorts of sounds, beautiful pads, harsh noises, basses...its not often you get a synth where you can create truly new and unique sounds.

erik, you did a fantastic job.

one thing i would like to see (or modify myself once i understand it enough) is to have multiple instances of the stereo section, i think combining the unisono, reverb and stereo spread could provide some interesting dimensions.

That is so annoying. NI have a lot of great products, but I cannot understand the rationale behind having to run an instrument inside a player.

Can we make that the new "tarnce", please? :D

yes i think too, that would something for razor 2 if there will such a thing. As there should not be hidden pages or tabs this is a layout issue. I'm quite satisfied with the current layout.

Another option is to put more (mono) effects in filter 2. right now you find there already flanger and phaser like effects (comb filter) and a mono version of unison noise.

Duckstep™ has been done. I was going to post my duckstep choon using only quacking samples until I heard that it already blew up in the 50's and got so popular that everyone burned out on it and vowed to never speak of it again. Ok, really I'm just here to firmly state that I trademarked duckstep™ and I am entitled to more than a few shillings. Thanks, people.

Just went to NI's site to pull the trigger on Razor and the friggin' thing is down.

Probably too much Traktor 2 traffic.

I suspect it's all the Maschine 1.6 downloads. Their servers get hammered whenever a new update for Maschine gets released.

Yesterday was the drop date for Traktor 2 though - my guess is the servers were getting slammed from that also/instead.
