How about this...? Download the Native Instruments Komplete Player and buy the Reflektor package for Guitar Rig. Its a great sounding plugin.
Also on the list are 2c aether, Redreverb by 112db, Arts Acoustic Reverb, etc...

Although Live reverb is often downplayed here I found that it does what I expect. Sure it needs a lot of effort.
After L8 I start from meaningful presets from the library and adjust to taste. So if you haven't done so, take your time
to explore a little further you might spare that 150 bucks. If you're already at the end of your tests. Look for Uhe Ubik
plugin bundle and make comparisons.

+1 for Redline reverb. You should really consider downloading demo versions to try them out yourself.

Sorry for my ignorance.
Can someone explain (not too technical please) what someone should expect from a modern reverb plug-in?
I thought Live Reverb was ok but I see you guys know more than I do.. so...

I really like LiquidSonics Reverberate

http://www.liquidsonics.com/software_reverberate.htm

It's convolution but has early reflections and tails modules. Pretty cheap too and worth checking out.

I love Live's reverb for making things sound plastic and unreal.. but for a bit of small space ambience/glue or more realistic room verbs I love the new ValhallaRoom, it sounds pretty much on a par with what i've heard from the Lexicon PCM in this respect imho, and avoids the need for an iLok. im trying the ValhallaRoom reverb and i have to say for room reverb its amazing! and so many parameters it really seems to add 3D space and life to drums and ant other elements and its really cheap for what it is ($50) so get that and spend the rest of your money on Larger :D

I don't own this, but someone once mentioned Eos.

I desperately want another Reverb too. If I had the money, Altiverb would be my first choice, and Aether my second.
