For people spending 500 euros on buying it new, it is a measly 30% off. Less if they buy the box. When other companies have offers, everyone here is all over it. Weird.

I've no problem with Ableton giving away M4L as part of a Live8 Suite promo bundle, but the 30% off thing still isn't making it worth my while. If I had an interest in actually creating patches, the original $300 would be a steal - let alone $210.

I don't want to create patches.

Funny thing, if they had offered it at 50% off, I wouldn't be posting this now. I would have bought it. I bet a LOT of people would have bought it. 50% is a great marketing number. It resonates with people right away.

If at least we could use m4L patches as a max4Live runtime.
The only runtime I got is turning in demo mode for recording to audio fast made sequences.

What do you think Ableton should do?

They should offer the people who bought Live 8 up until the time of their "bug fixing" announcement a better deal than users who join the platform once the major bugs were ironed out.....and not to release Live 9 until it's in a much more stable state of being than Live 8 was.

They should also put any plans to expand their client base on hold until Live 9 is fully debugged and getting praised 'en masse'.

totally understand your anger. I hate this business model too. I will never buy a product from east west again because of this business model by the way. but that said, ableton is still really one of the "better" guys regarding this imho.
