this is a quote from muffwiggler that is SPOTON

I've had my OP-1 for a week now, and I really love it. At this point, there is no midi sync that I'm aware if, but it should be coming later down the line. The current manual contains a section on using the OP-1 as a midi controller, but the section on external control and sync is incomplete. That being said, it's a really, really fun little synth. There's a TON of videos and song clips out there now, so those on the fence should be able to figure out whether this thing is useful or not for their setup. I've owned a few synths in my time, including an old vcs3, and nothing else has put a smile on my face as quickly as the OP-1 has. The synth engines appear limited on the surface, but I've been able to get a ton of cool sound out of it, especially when combined with the built in effects. Sampling from the built in radio is REALLY fun, and the sampling quality is surprisingly good. The tape function is where the unit really takes off, I've never played with anything quite like it before. All that being said, I do think the Op-1 will be a love it or hate it kind of thing, it does what it does really well, but it does have its limitations, like any gear. I feel that the $800 price tag is fair, though toys are my weakness, so I expect and accept the fact that unique instruments don't come cheap. My only complaint with the Op-1 (mine anyway) is that it has a fair amount of digital noise in the output signal...it's not noticeable from my chair position about 3 feet from my speakers, but I do hear it in headphones. This is minor though and has not detracted from my opinion that the OP-1 is an incredibly cool piece of gear."

I fear that a 10 mile radius will be needed alas
