After my trusty 5 year old E-mu xboard49 midi controller died on me, a friend gave me his 1st gen. Axiom 49, and this thing puzzles me. I'm trying to stick to the 17-20 presets, like recommended, but still find some weirdness in how it controls my software. The rotary knobs link to a number when turning clockwise, and to a different number when turning counter-clockwise. The pads trigger same keys as C3-C8. The sliders are by default linked to the track volumes, so I can't freely link them to other things, and the transport buttons change parameters in some third party vsti's (kore player).
Should I 'dump', under the prefs tab? Or should I craigslist this mo-fo.
Apparently this m-audio keyboards break super fast, so I'm hesitant about diving head first into the manual.
If anyone has some clues for me, i'll buy them a cup of tea.

Why would you expect it to work for Live if you didn't Dump the Live presets into it???
