keep losing clips in my live set from my external hard drive

dont know what is causing this but my firwire drive is connected when i start live but the clips show up as "sample offline" even though they were there last time i used it. Why isnt live locating these files on my x drive ?

No idea about that, but I'd suggest you start using "save set as self contained". It will save all the audio clips in the set folder. It works really good to keep the sets orgainzed.

ok, in case anyone is interested. I think the problem lies here, if I bring up a live set that contains sounds from my external hard drive...if my external hard drive is not connected and i save that set then the next time I open that set, it will not recognize those clips on my x drive even though it is now connected so i have to reload these clips from the file browser.

I like the idea of self contained sets but for me the problem is hard drive space because i am wanting to dj with it, and have alot of trax loaded into my set (takes a while to start it up). Please abletons, please give us apple lossless support...please. I am determined to hang out untill apple releases its intel powerbooks and I don't want to convert stuff to mp3, I think apple lossless is the answer for dj'ing with live on a powerbook....please....any chance whatsoever ?
