Launchpad Session + Mixer Mode

Post by makerprofaze » Wed Jun 01, 2011 7:10 pm

In Mixer(1) Mode, the top 4 grid buttons control defaulting mixer parameters back to default. How would I set these up to control the first 4 clips in tracks like Session Mode? - but 'instant mapped' like session mode (ie not hard assigning in Live?). I have little need to default mixer params, but having "strip" control is fundamental. As it is now, I have to switch between the two modes to access everything.

You could do it if you wrote a new midi remote script for your LP. Essentially, you're talking about a complete reprogram of the controller and how it functions with Live. I too wanted this kind of set-up. Eventually, I just bought an apc20 to launch clips and control my mixer and now I'm using the LPC scripts from nanoKontrol with my LP for sequencers, choppers, ect. Way fun.

I have a BCF and a BCR, so the LaunchPad is mainly for clip control. I officially consider "defaulting" vol/pan/sends utterly useless, idiotic, and a monumentally poor design choice. Fine.

I'm already in the water - I've got STC (Selected Track Control) and APC_64_40 - all due respect to the providers of these essential scripts, descriptions and other resources. Coming from traditional DAWs, I couldn't get by without STC, and it's revealed a bit about script components. I think. I just got started. And APC_ is complex but (all?) inclusive.

I'd already gotten midiKatapult for my LP as I didn't like the idea of buying locked Bome's scripts I could eventually allocate myself. So yeah, I'll be programming code while you're programming music. Enjoy.
