Live 5 beta delay: does it affect release date ?

Post by Riff Valley » Fri Jun 17, 2005 8:48 am

I was wondering if the release date of "late July" is still realistic ?

I was merely trying to establish if there was a delay or not, as the original news of the release said "....to begin soon ..", because to me the word 'soon' implies days or possible a week or two.

Ableton engineers are very clever people and I am shure they are working very hard, I was merely curious to know if it could be fully beta tested and released in such a short period of time (6 weeks)

Cheers

There is soon....
And then there is the Ableton equivalent of soon....
Both sound the same. But it's two different timelines.

They said "more exciting news coming soon" in the january newsletter.
So i expect the beta to be out, around october

No delay. And it still falls within their definition of soon.

Seems there may be a slight delay - the page said beta testing will begin in July and now it says beta testing will begin soon.

But hey, delay or no delay, one can not stop the revolution!

Viva la revolution!!!!

Is that like Armageddon is "soon"?
Zion will decend from heaven "soon"?

:-D

The Abe's sent me a link to the beta last week. Out of courtesy, given that I am the world's greatest DJ producer, they promised me that I could have first look.

Once I've tried it, and I've given my man-from-del-monte "yes", only then the will the beta be made available to anyone else.

However, I just haven't quite gotten around to unzipping the beta yet. I'm responding to all the spam in my free email accounts, painstakingly re-tagging my MP3s, filing all my drumkit hits into folders by type and performing other essential maintenance work on my laptop first.

I expect I'll have some time in early July, I'll take a look at the beta then and only then permit the Abe's to release it more generally.

Hmm, I think I'll mow the grass and cut the hedge today.

If the Beta is in October does that mean the release is November? Thats a long time to wait after advertising it isnt it?

I hope the release is much earlier than that
