Hey guys,
Im very new to Ableton. I just exported a finished track, and when I played back the wav file, the drums are a lot quieter and softer than they are when playing the track back on Ableton. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? Would really appreciate any help

Did you render the arrangement?
It could be that you recorded some automation on the track volume by accident. It gets overrun and greyed out if you change it again, but might play back correctly if you render. Go to your arrangement and click the little "Back to Arrangement" button:
Listen to your track that way. If the drums sound as low as in your rendered file then you have the culprit. You just have to delete your automation or correct it.
If that doesn't work, we'd need some more information about your Live Set.
Cheers,
Matt

Hey thanks a lot for your reply. With that button pressed the track in arrangement view doesn't play at all unfortunately.
I dont understand whats happening. In ableton, everything is in balance. But, once rendered, the drums are much quieter than the other instruments. However, if I increase the volume of the drum track in ableton, to the point where it is so loud it is actually distorted, the track sounds normal in the rendered version.
Whichever details you'd need to figure out whats wrong, just let me know. Im desperate to fix this problem!
Thank you

i dunno but try freeze and flattening your drums, then exporting it

youre playing the wav outside of live?
check your audio settings in that player..
also if using "asio" in live..outside..not..
so check audio settings in your os as well

One question remains. Have you laid out your track in the arrangement? If the drums won't play after pressing "back to arrangement", you have some unwanted automation on it. Delete the automation and try to render again.
