Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Hey brothers;)
I'm having trouble looping this beat, since all clips are of different lengths. (I work in session)
Here it is, Live 8.1: http://tinyurl.com/6xluej7
The first scene is the original. It captures the essence with which I want to continue working on, but after a few seconds the looping gets really messy.
The second scene was recorded into arrangement view, where I found a reasonable loop, split it, copied and pasted it back in to the session but it doesn't really sound right either.
So what do I do? Keep working on session 1, warp, change BPMs and stuff? That would take days I reckon??
Thanks

I don't know, still kinda outta sync I think? I need the first few seconds to sound exactly like they do. Except when it goes outta sync, nah I don't need that.
It's not so much the drums (other than they loop with the audio samples) - its more the 2nd audio track that needs to coincide perfectly with the 1st one (which it does the first few seconds - after the guitar intro). I hope this makes sense.

One other general tip: Update to Live 8.2.2, the latest version of Live 8. There have been a number of fixes and improvements since Live 8.1.
Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Nothing to see here - move along!
Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Nice one but you changed the entire musical content.. sure you got skills but that was not quite what i had in mind, this beat is but 10% done..Khazul wrote:Try these - just a quick rough job...

project (8.22)
One of you clips is a bit short.
(the two main samples, the way i chopped them, also go outta sync after a while)
Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Well it aint my kind of music at all - just a quick hack for the warping.

Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Basically, say I have one audio clip that's 1.1.0 in length and one that's 0.2.1 (both at 95 BPM) - how do I get these to loop perfectly? They do loop perfectly for the first few seconds but after a while they go out of sync and start sounding horrible.
Do I need to do some mathematics to figure out how long either one or both of these audio clips should be?

Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
duplicate or rather isolate the first few seconds.
Record in arrangement,
Then consolidate both clips.
You will keep your evolving phrase looped and structured.
If I understood well
Could you update your link? I could try it out

Hermanus: I tried that actually - got me incredibly close but not close enough. Will try again tonight.

Re: Can't fucking loop this thing !!!!!
Well your problem is clear.
Seeing the groove of the drum section makes it all clear.
BPM is at 95 and you're playing like it would be 90 or even less.
I understand you've made the drum section this way for following the audio clips' groove.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just numbering things that popped to me
Try this one, I've managed to loop it at 95 bpm with the drum section gridded to the bpm and not to the audio.
The result is a slight acceleration from the beginning and ending looped.
Just to give you an idea, I know the result here is not what you're expecting but a short workaround

Hope it will give you some inspiration to keep on with this nice project.
PS: play it in arrangement view from the beginning
Best
