Having recently (finally) secured a 2mb broadband connection, I've been doing almost nothing but wallowing in any internet stream i can find.

I suppose to a lot of people that have had a fat connection for years, the novelty has more than worn off, but personally, I'm finding this INCREDIBLY inspiring. I've been at the mercy of British radio (BBC unts) for most of my life and had almost got to the point of despair at having the usual mtv drivvel rammed down my throad everytime i want to listen to the radio. John Peel was one of the only ways to hear something new, now sadlly gone.

Anyway, internet radio! Fuckin Ay! I love it. Here's a very short list of some that I've been listening to with a lot of pleasure, if you know any more like these, that run without advertising every five seconds, please post some links for me, I've been starving musically for years and am now gorging myself like a madman.

I've found a LOT of others (we seem to be alright for Trance

) that I'll not bother posting because they are nowhere near the quality of the three above.

If you know of any more like these, please post some links into this thread. Maybe we could make it 'Great Radio' thread or something.

plus listen on demand for radio 1 and more recently kiss100.com has the same so you can listen to any of their shows when you like

most common I listen to on R1: Annie Nightingale breaks show which is always bang on, also Breezeblock and blue room and one world has some cool stuff

on kiss100 I listen to Tom Stephan/Superchumbo religiously and Dave mothersole is the man for deep house

Excellent! some of these look really good.

Forge, I was REALLY trying to avoid radio 1, I'll not bang on too much but i really think that station has damaged the british music industry in many, many ways. Glastonbury festival was a totally different affair until Radio 1 got it's 'ooh glastonburys really trendy' hooks into it and desroyed it with it's dumbing down influence. And as for Pete Tong and Judge TWAAAAAT Jules! Tim Westward? Oh He's REALLY genuine Hip Hop isn't he?

Oh, Mike Holiday, I like banging Techno too but think it really works best when coming off at least 80k of PA! With a completely nutted audience.

no but that's exactly the point - you can listen to whatever shows you want when you want - the best ones are always on at times you're less likely to hear, like 3 am thursday or whatever....DEFINITELY check out Annie Nightingale, her shows are a staple in my diet, I've heard some outstanding music on there and from what you've played me of your music I reckon you'd really get into it

And she's funny as hell too - bit like Patsy off AbFab - dont think I've ever heard a show where she didnt slur her words - she's a bit of a veteran, been around a long while and from her picture looks like she's enjoyed every minute

Yeah, i realise that, i've heard a few of Annie nightingale's shows and really liked them. I recently listened to the Sasha thing fron tong's show (dontya just hate real player?), and left a comment on the board too, they never showed it though, can't think why.

I'ts just that i've been pretty blown away by some of the music I've heard recently on the net from other sources and wondered if anyone had some links to some of their faves.

I used to listen to Monkey Radio on 56k ages ago, I thought that one had closed down, so that's a pleasant surprise. A lot of the other links are great too, plenty to listen to while hitting that refresh button eh?

My other staple is Tom Stephan and Dave Mothersole, (both of whom have played my tune BTW!!!) and of course Diggers on www.kiss100.com

I've also got a HELL of alot from proton and radio FG - but then my favourite music iis underground house - from tribal, to deep to tech to progressive (not the trancey stuff - the only trance I've ever liked is the authentic acid/hippy stuff)

now here's a spin out - playing right now on proton is DJ PQM from New York playing in my home town of Hobart, Tasmania. It's a small place, seeing it in the "now playing" certainly took me by surprise.

Some it's really good, most fat connections are around 128k so the same as an avarage mp3, but some are streaming at 160k or Ogg Vorbis which sounds fantastic.

It's saturday, the sun is shining outside, the birds are singing and I'm indoors listening to net radio

nothing to do with the possible beta of live5 or anything

I'm such a sad fuck, i'm really starting to worry about myself.
