How to do this lazer gun effect?

Post by marra » Fri Jun 24, 2011 2:57 am

How do I create something like this?

I can make the sound itself with a couple of oscillators in Operator - but how do I make them repeat real fast or slow like that (so I can assign it to a single know on my APC)?

Note Repeat is a MIDI plugin?

Also - my lazer sound Operator preset seems to already be repeating and I can't figure out how to disable it:

P.S. Additional tips on how to make my preset more like the original would be most welcome !!

I think that's it, Peter!

Time set to free though, what do you mean?

And why is my Operator repeating the notes?

Click on the pitch shell on the right. The pitch envelope should now appear in the display. Change the 'Loop' setting from 'Beat' to 'None'.

Could try making the tone, and then using an LFO on a filter, and then adjust the rate manually.

just stumbled across this trick and thought of this thread.

get an operator preset lead sound. (i used Lead-Luckily)

turn on lfo. Select SwDown. Select 'S' for sync, and retrigger. Amount 100%...you can set the rate to what you desire, -->turn on [FIL] box on the black part of the window
turn on filter (i used band SVF) turn up Res to 10.0..you can set Freq to what you desire, but i used around 1.00 kH

Map a knob to the LFO rate 1/32 for fast lazers cuzzzzzz, bam there you go, lazer yourself away.
