Serious Pro Help Needed

Post by samurai1 » Tue Jul 12, 2011 10:25 pm

Hi there,
I have an amazing track in progress, i have all the layers now, bar two i am unsure on the route key...
I have played about but my ears just arent good enough to figure the key out

Heres a link to the 2 samples: h ... /jl7soz

Can anyone help me find the exact route key PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Hope to hear from someone,

I simply need to know what the key is for both the pad and bass samples i linked up yesterday...
I have a track and all other samples are in route key E, so i need to make the above samples also in E or A or B...whatever matches key and sounds best!

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Chris

you didn't make that clear in the OP.
if you want to know the root notes, use the Spectrum device with the 'notes' preset.
why start a new thread?

Actually, Spectrum is one of the devices (plug ins) that is built into live. Click the far left hand icon for devices (second down, the menu that lets you use EQs, auto filter, delay, etc) and scroll the browser all the way down.

If that still doesn't make sense, READ THE MANUAL!

Ok right,
So im in second one down now, live device browser, cant see spectrum in either instruments, midi or audio devices...is this because im on live version 6 maybe? As i know is is old now, but i cant afford new and it works at least

Surely there must be another way to find the route key to the samples? There hasto be something?

I think i have got it now, maybe i could send over a snip of the main layers, i have played the keys of a keyboard along with the bassline and pad of the track seperately

The first bass goes in C minor, the pad behind it goes in E minor. I listened them through my laptop speakers so I can't fine tune them, but those are roots.
