back to arrangement PER TRACK
back to arrangement PER TRACK
sometimes I might change the clip playing on a track and then decide I want to hear which one was recorded, but dont want the whole arrangement to revert
I think it would be definitely much better to have more control in this way
it ties in to the issue of recording everything when you might not want to - if you have the option of reverting only some tracks to the arrangement then you could carry on recording bits you want to record over without wiping everything
And I still think there needs to be a record automation button independent to the current record button

Yep, Back To Arrangement per track, and with optional quantise.
I might post a new thread but I'll use this one for now.
Say you've got something in the arrangement and you start overdubbing some changes from session view. You've finished making changes to one or more tracks but you don't want to stop recording others. A BTR button for each track would allow you to do this.
As it is with BTR being global, if you try to use it to release recording of one track of course all the others stop recording as well. Stopping clips on a track is not the answer as that just leaves it recording nothing.

Re: back to arrangement PER TRACK
When you change a parameter in Global Record it's obviously per parameter that it goes into record mode so why should Back To Arrangement send them all back in one go?
Maybe there could be a Stop Recording Automation in the context menu for elements alongside Show Automation.
What say ye, good people of Abletown?

+1 for ability to switch between session and arrangement per track!
Re: back to arrangement PER TRACK
I'd like this as well, I often find myself hitting every track stop button except one in order to render that track. It would be nice to be able to just stop all & then hit back to arrangement on the one track to render it. Would be a real time saver.
But I wonder how they would acheive this without hogging up more vertical screen space.

I always imagined it would be like track delay and crossfade assign - so it can be hiddenicedsushi wrote: But I wonder how they would acheive this without hogging up more vertical screen space.

I've been asking for this for some time.
Even better would be back to arrangement per control - right click on any control and select "Back To Arrangement"
Also would like Undo/Redo Per Control also on a context click menu.
