Audio input Latency
Audio input Latency
when i plug an external sound source into my sound card and assign a track in live to that sound source, there is a delay between, for instance with a guitar, the actuall pluck of the string, and the sound coming out of the speaker. I'm guessing this is because it would be to memory intensive to do it in real time. I was wondering if it would be possible to change that so i could use Live as an FX processor for outside audio sources, and so if i were recording audio, i could record directly into live with latency issues.
latenzy
...i would not go so far to assume that everyone who is asking a question which is covered in the manual is using a crack.
nevertheless:
latency is something which is inherent when processing audio on a normal computer in realtime. it has nothing to do with cpu speed or memory. some operation systems and some hardware interfaces allow for very low latencys, some do not.
that latencies can be compensated when recording. the way this works is explained in your manual.
