I am in the exact same situation right now.

Had lots of ideas last year, made probably 15 tracks and 30-odd idea projects, but for the past two months or so, I've been dry. I load up Ableton and start messing around with things, and I just feel empty of ideas.

Any suggestions to spur creativity?

Try to take inspiration from nature. I think you will get more music from there.

Don't worry, it will come back. Just think of something else, DO something else (inspiration often strikes me at work, unfortunately), go on vacation... etc...
Nature is a good idea I think, but everybody has his own inspiring environment. You just cannot force it :-(

New stuff can of course also be inspiring. For me, even reading about new good stuff gets me little tiny inspiration kick.
My English is not perfect, I know... Sorry about that.

P.S. to wishlist forum users: Please search for former requests. Otherwise they will be splitted into many small ones and we are loosing impact!!!

change your habits. Everything. Wake up at 11 PM and drink a whisky. Then take two baths, closing your eyes. Play tennis in the street.
And then, you'll be inspired.

I can only buy acid by the bottle though...

(P.S. I don't really recommend LSD. It's a bit odd.)

Dip yourself in some other art - go to an indie cinema and watch a random foreign film, go to a small free art gallery and wander around having a think. Find a genre of music that you don't know much about which doesn't piss you off (for me, it would be something like jazz), and go watch it live for one night. Hell, pick some words out of the air and type them into google and read whatever website looks the weirdest from the front page.

It's all about stimulation.

Get to a pleasant place like water falls. You will be relaxed and you will get inspired.

Forget about music for a while. Do something else. Read a book, take a walk, talk with friends. That will do the trick.

Try a new genre or style, something that you get to explore again.

Or learn about something music related that you haven't yet. Say, some kind of synthesis or an in depth look at an instrument. Maybe you'll get ideas on how to apply it to what you want to make.
