Real time pitch shift?

Post by Michael Tuttle » Thu Jul 21, 2011 8:33 pm

I'm looking for a way to shift the pitch of an instrument being played into Live. During a performance, for example: a bass being played into Live and spit out the speakers an octave higher.
Grain Delay comes pretty close, but I'd like it without the delay.

Any ideas?

With the built-in devices, Grain Delay is probably your only option, but not ideal. There should be a Max For Live device for that, if not, you can check out 3rd party plugs.

Use the standard Apple plug in called 'AU Pitch'. if you've got an apple that is.

Nice! The new Whammy DT's have midi in so you can change the pedal's interval range and key mid song. Very tempted to get one and use it on all sorts of unsuitable source material ;)

Literally the only reason I still have my Boss GT6-B is so I can do dive bomb or rising pitch slides. I really wish Live had an internal pitch shift effect.

Grain delay 100% wet...
1 ms (manual) delay ...
Pitch... Freq... and Feedback... tweak-able.

duplicate in serial as needed

There are tons of free Pitch VST ones out there, but I still look
for a really simple and HQ one. I don't understand why there
is no Transpose Audio Effect in Live at all (instead of
Clip Transpose only)...

Thanks for the max one, any plain VST recommendations?
Something simple like the MIDI pitch in Max would be great...
