Can't assign midi keys using Launchpad

Very happy with the launchpad. Can use user 1 to play midi instrument. However user 2 will not let me assign midi pads to? triggers etc like it does in the Novation video. Can't assign in the midi mode. Is there something I am missing?

When I press cntrl+M and the blue segments appear on Live for mapping, It will not recognise my midi pads on any section of Launchpad.

Make sure "Remote" is enabled for the Launchpad in Live preferences!
