I know it not really a big asset but it does help especially when you just want export a lil clip before you finish your project.

They won't implement this features for fear of being said ableton has shit sound like mp3.

Automatically creating an AAC file on bounce in iTunes like Logic does would be a bonus too!

just create an automated batch file to do this for you. on osx you could use automator.
