8.2.X OS X Lion
8.2.X OS X Lion
I installed beta version of 8.2.5b1.. I'm running it on a Macbook Pro i7 2.2ghz and so far works great. I would love to ask you guys two requests to be added to the new official update which I believe are really important:
- Add 64bit Native Support.
- Add the option to be able to Export Audio as MP3
Common' guys!! don't let us down...

Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
note:
Lots of remix comps require that your music be in mp3 form, and some radio stations as well (Last.fm) so exporting audio in mp3 would be really nice.

Hi there, can you be more specific as to how to set this up? Thanks.abl385 wrote:Try All2MP3 for converting to mp3s if you are on a Mac.
Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
If you set preferences in iTunes so that audio is imported as MP3, you can drag wave files into it and they will be converted automatically to MP3.
Also, the lame mp3 encoder is available for free (lame.sourceforge.net) for all platforms. It's a very good MP3 encoder, that's used by many other apps that provide MP3 encoding.

Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
I use iTunes for this, just drag the WAV into iTunes, right click convert to mp3 (or whatever format the import setting is), it takes about 3 seconds.
It is an extra step though and you might be stuck with an extra WAV you don't need which gets dragged to the trash. And if you don't want the mp3 residing in your iTunes library, you have to option+drag a copy of the mp3 & then delete it from iTunes.

Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
If you google it, it's a free download. Really easy to use. You install it, drag and drop the files you want to convert, choose the bit rate and click convert. Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
The odd glitch like the "do you want to save' dialogue being blank until you click on it. But that only happened once.cids wrote:Looks like 8.2.5b1 is really stable under Lion, anyone any other experiences...?
Live seems to be behaving better than some of Apple's apps.

I have not been able to trigger sound clips with any reliability. Using a midi sequencer in loop mode, clips being midi triggered will drop out about halfway through the measure. After they do this other clips will start firing at random as if there was some phantom automation or something, but it is pretty random. Also, when I am sending out a midi clip to an external synth, after a few measures, live will start sending the synth a random monotone midi signal. This happens almost immediately after I try to record the synth on a different audio track simultaneously, and some other random oddities.

Re: 8.2.X OS X Lion
Well, I'm just trying to avoid the extra step, whether iTunes or other 3rd party format converter app.. It would just make sense that Live would give us that option so we don't have to bother with iTunes or others.. Is the little details that count.abl385 wrote:If you google it, it's a free download.
