Individual tracks get louder....
Hey,
I have been having a problem with my ableton lately, I can't seem to find anything about it anywhere.
Basically, when my whole song is playing, its fine, but then say if only one or 2 tracks are playing, either in a breakdown or build up, or even if i solo a track, that/those tracks start to get a lot louder, which means when my song drops, and the majority of tracks are playing (if not all) it will go really quiet.
It's basically like ableton wants the file to be played at the same volume all the time.
I have never had the problem before, I use plu-ins all the time, mainly native instruments Massive, but along with others. But even loading an old track where it didnt happen and playing it, it has started to happen.
If anybody knows anything it could be, a few people have said it could be compressors, but even if i turn them all off, it still does it.
I'm pretty stuck, any help really appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Individual tracks get louder....
What kinds of hardware are you using? Does your audio interface have any built in effects? Speakers? Mixer?? Other?
But yeah, it still sounds like compressors or limiters, unless you are using a Send channel that doubles up your levels during breakdown. Or sidechaining ??

I don't use any hardware, just my computer, Even if i turn all my compressors off its still doing it. Even if i go back to older songs, it has started doing it then.yur2die4 wrote:What kinds of hardware are you using? Does your audio interface have any built in effects? Speakers? Mixer?? Other?

I may have to re install or something, if i do decide to do that (which is a last option) would it mess up all my live sets? and samples etc??
I dont think i am using a send channel, i will have to look, but again, it feels like a setting has been put on.
Any other ideas anybody?
Thanks though.
Re: Individual tracks get louder....
it should be either compression/limiting or hardware failure (monitors, cans)

That's what most people have said, but it seems to be doing it web if I remove all of my compressors or limiters.rdevries wrote:it should be either compression/limiting or hardware failure (monitors, cans)
If put In my ableton disk and re install / repair. Will I be able to keep all my iles an samples in the same folders? Or will it delete my work?
Thanks
