iTunes to Ableton
iTunes to Ableton
So it's come to my attention that when I'm mixing, I can never use a song that I've downloaded from iTunes. I was wondering, is there any way to get those songs on Ableton without using a music converter that will take the files from mp4 to mp3? If not, no biggie, it's only an extra 25 bucks, but it would be a lot nicer if I could do this for free
Re: iTunes to Ableton
from what I can gather the MP4 files will almost for sure be copyright protected and to "bypass" the security to convert to another format is illegal, it is against forum regulations to give out advice on how to do such things publicly on the forum (usually anyway..not 100% sure about this forum)
anyway, check your PM
EDIT: oops sorry, i just read again and seen you said "without" converting... sorry

Re: iTunes to Ableton
The mp4 files you cannot open with Live are DRM protected. You can remove the DRM from the mp4 files with iTunes:
- Open iTunes
- Go to the iTunes Store
- Click "iTunes Plus" in the "Quick Links" box on the right side of the page
- Select the songs you want to unlock and pay the upgrade fee
