UAD-2 SOLO

Hi, was considering buying a second hand UAD-2 SOLO/Laptop ExpressCard for my Macbook pro 15".
I'm using Ableton Live 7 and want to boost my processing power, as I am now maxing it out. Does this card work without the plugins from Universal Audio? I just want to reduce the load on the CPU without having to buy a whole new laptop.

No, uad cards only work with uad plugs. No external vst hosting.
Live 9 Suite, audio trackles (several audio tracks that crackle)

Ah I see, thanks for the quick reply. Well, time to buy a new laptop I guess...
