Audiophile 192 - Ableton crashes when choosing ASIO driver

I was having problems with my M-Audio Audiophile 192 sound card. I was getting BSODs followed by reboots, and no sound coming from speakers when playing audio. I reinstalled the drivers for the card and now audio playback works fine, but when trying to choose ASIO as the driver type in Ableton, Ableton crashes with the "Live 8.2.1.exe has encountered a problem" error message. Only MME/DirectX works as the driver type. How can I get ASIO working as the driver type again? Any help would be appreciated.
