empty instrument rack
empty instrument rack
After recently installing Live 8 I find my instrument rack is empty, save for the "current project" folder. Audio and midi effects are visible, but not their respective presets. All instruments, presets samples, etc., are visible in the Live library. I tried the "Repair Library" function in Live preferences, but no improvement. Previously existing Live sets are working fine, though the intrument rack is empty in all of them. What am I missing?

Re: empty instrument rack
Live tech support suggested I re-install the Library, which I did after making a back-up of my imported samples, presets etc.. All is well now.

Re: empty instrument rack
I've got the same problem, no presets in the devices folder. How did you do the re-install of the library? Do I have to de-install and re-install some live packs, or do I need the whole Ableton live 8 installer?
Live 12.1.5; Push 3; Mac OS 12.7.6
Re: empty instrument rack
You should first remove all your own presets, samples tec. from the Live Library, then trash it. Boot live and you will get a message asking you if you wish to install the library. Accept and after the reinstallation you may replace any items that you removed earlier.
Good luck.

Re: empty instrument rack
I am still missing all the library files even after doing this. Please can you advise on what else I can do? I see all the instrument folders in Abelton but if I click on it to get the subfolders of instruments, they are empty and there is nothing there.
Any help would be much appreciated!
