Max 6 public beta available!

You can use Max for Live with Ableton Live 8.2.2 and greater and there is no need to authorize the Max 6 beta.

There is the same Max For Live version (2.2) included in Max 6 beta. But if you change the Max application path in Live preferences from Max 5 to Max 6 you can edit your Max devices/effects using the new beta.

So I'm confused...if I install this, will M4L stop working once the beta runs out?

Also, thx for posting! :)

MFL will not be able to use the Max 6 editor after the demo runs out, but you'll still be able to use the Max 5 one.

The initial release of Max 6 is not an MFL editor update, unless you are a full Max 6 owner, but we hope you try the demo and let us know what you think. Max 6 will be the basis of a future update for all MFL users.

Cheers

Thx for clarifying, Andrew. BTW, when does the beta run out?

30 days after you first fire it up.

I did sell it, and then I saw Henke's Granulator video. Game over! Re-bought!

Lol yeah it's nice. M4L will only keep maturing with people building devices like that, so it's an investment.

Yeah, it's pretty cool, though I really need Ableton and Cycling to fix the issue where M4L is basically unusable in the Arrange view due to it taking 10 seconds to move clips. That's my only real complaint.
