Ableton won't let me cross-fade
Ableton won't let me cross-fade
Hi,
I'm fairly new to Ableton. I've had it for a while but I've only started using it on a regular basis for about two weeks now. I love it so far. I know how to x-fade but in this new project for some reason, I am unable to drag the fade in/out to make a nice x-fade. Like I said it worked just even a couple hours ago until I started a new project. I'm not sure why.
Thanks.

Does it just not have the desired effect or can you literally not click and drag the crossfader?
Remember that you need to have tracks marked as "A" and "B" sides to use the crossfader. You may have already checked that.

I'm in the arrangement view and basically I created an audio track. At one point I decided to punch in to re record and I was to cross fade to avoid the clicks but it won't let me drag even though the points are there. I'm not sure how to set A and B sides in arrangement view?Warrior Bob wrote:Does it just not have the desired effect or can you literally not click and drag the crossfader?

crossfade is impossible if there is no audio to crossfade, if you try to crossfade the total end and total start of files, it wont let you do

Oh, I misunderstood. It sounds like you're talking about fading between two clips on the same track in arrangement, rather than using the Session View crossfader across two tracks.Niklass wrote:I'm in the arrangement view and basically I created an audio track. Feel free to disregard what I said; I don't actually know the answer to your question. Sorry! Best of luck though.

Actually what Muzik 4 Machines said was correct. It makes sense. Thx though.Warrior Bob wrote:Oh, I misunderstood.
