Why is my mic active no matter what? From the moment I connect it to my audio interface and turn the phantom power on I can hear my voice from the monitors. I only want it to be active when I am recording something, so how do I change it? I'm on a Mac.
Even when I record something in Live and say I have an effect on the audio track, I hear both the wet and the dry sound.
Thanks in advance..

Re: Microphone's audible at all times
Your audio interface must have the live monitoring enabled. I am not on a mac but you would need to find the audio interfaces mixer and simply MUTE the input for the mic. This will mute the mixer from routing it to the output but software can still use the MIC input and rout it to the output.

Thanks for the reply. I am using an M-Audio Fast Track Pro and the only settings I know of are these

(with the exception that I don't have a latency tab but that's irrelevant anyway)

Any other suggestions by anyone? I could really use some help.

Ever tried the "Mix"-knob on the front of the interface? Fast Track Pro manual pp 2/3, position 9 (at least in the German pdf).abl385 wrote:Even when I record something in Live and say I have an effect on the audio track, I hear both the wet and the dry sound.

Haha can't believe this, so obvious.. I always forget it's a mix knob and not a volume knob. Thanks a lot!chrk wrote:Ever tried the "Mix"-knob on the front of the interface? Fast Track Pro manual pp 2/3, position 9 (at least in the German pdf).
